True or False?Haunted Mansion

Have guests at Disneyland actually dumped the ashes of their loved ones on rides?
The answer is TRUE! There have been many reports of quests trying to spill the ashes of loved ones in the Haunted Mansion. So, every time it happens, the Mansion has to be closed and a hazmat team cleans it. Fortunately Disneyland has provided the Mansion with the appropriate types of ghost! In my opinion guests don't need to add anymore.

Tribute on the Matterhorn

"As you ride the Matterhorn, you may notice a pick axe and crate in one of the caves. These items are well lit and seen in a snowy area. The crate says, “Wells Expedition” and is a tribute to the late Frank Wells. Frank Wells joined the Walt Disney Company in 1984 with Michael Eisner as the President. Immediately before joining the company he climbed the tallest summit on each of the seven continents. His book Seven Summits about his adventures is a very interesting book. Frank died in a helicopter accident in 1994 and the tribute on the Matterhorn was places there soon after."

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day everyone! Go give a tree a hug or better yet plant one! I found this video on the Disney Parks Blog. It's shows a small part of how Disneyland helps with conservation.  In fact, the Walt Disney Company was in California's Top 10 waste reducers in 1996, recycling over 80,000 tons of waste materials and saving $528,000 in disposal costs! Since 2005 Disneyland has recycled over 35 million bottles and cans! They earned over a quarter of a million dollars and have donated that money to Canine Companions for Independence. Jungle Cruise

On the Jungle Cruise ride, there is a crate behind the gorillas, during the Lost Expedition section, that reads "WED Expedition." WED stands for Walter Elias Disney.

A Favorite Spot

One of my favorite spots at Disneyland is Snow White's Grotto. It is very peaceful most of the time and it's one of the rare places you can be alone for a short time.  I love taking my son there to make a wish and I also love listening to Snow White sing and hearing her echo in the well.
The well reads "Your Wishes Will Help Children Everywhere" All coins thrown into the well and other fountains throughout Disneyland Park are donated to help the community.
My fun fact for Snow Whites Grotto is that these perfectly crafted marble statuettes were sent to Disneyland Park, anonymously, from Italy in 1961. The sender is still unknown today.

Tender Ride

Choo- Choo! On your next visit to Disneyland head to Main Street Station and ask one of the Conductors if you can ride "Tender". This is the seat right behind the drivers on the steam engine.  I've seen a number of people riding tender but I haven't been able to myself. Maybe when my son is a little older, right now every time I ask he says no! He's kinda a shy little guy!
A few tips:

*Only Engine 1 and 2 allow riders. (E.P. Ripley or C.K. Holliday)
*You have to board at Main Street Station and it's a full circle trip.
*It's only offered once every hour because the Trains have to fill up with water and fuel.
*There are only two riders allowed at a time due to space.

Surprise Fast Passes

I've heard that on special occasions when you get a Fast Pass for a certain ride a surprise Fast Pass will shoot out along with it. When Disneyland is trying to promote a new ride or increase popularity for an older ride they give out these tickets. What fun!
